Learning Curve For Beginners, BUT WORTH IT!!!
This is my first drone and jumped in head first. Long story short as I can…pairing with the GPS can be DIFFICULT, but once learned, it’s easy. You NEED to register it with the FAA and take a FREE safety test online. Using google search type registering your drone with the FAA and the rest is not that hard to follow. You do need to pay a $5 fee for three years registration. You also MUST dl the air aware app along with the Ruko Pro app. Reason for the air aware app, is that when you are ready to fly your drone, opening the app, will lyk if the area that you’re in has been cleared by the FAA in REAL time.I also recommend that you order FREE stickers (no cc or ANY info like that) to put your registration number on your drone (through pilotinstitute), which is REQUIRED by the FAA. I am waiting for mine and used a label maker in the meantime to get this accomplished. After all of this, pairing and setup was the next step. Turn the drone on, then the controller. move the L stick up and then then down and 2 tones, along with a white light on your controller, will lyk it’s paired. Immed AFTER this step, is where I got confused and it took me a while to figure this out.You then need to pick up the drone and rotate it litterally in a circle 2 times horizontally (till the back lights become solid, then place it down), then pick it back up again, with the camera facing the ground (vertically) and again rotate it 2x in a cirlce until the front lights turn solid, then place it back on a flat surface again. At that point, you MUST connect it through your phones wifi. Go to your phones wifi list, find ruko in there and connect it. Once you do that, open the app. It will NOT finish the GPS pairing UNTIL you open the app and click on controls towards the upper right corner of the app. You will then see the view from the drone camera itself and you then know that you’re gtg!!After that, move BOTH thumb sticks at the SAME time towards one another (the left goes bottom R, 5 o’clock position and the R stick goes bottom L 7 o’clock position) which starts up the props and your FINALLY ready for flight. My personal opinion for the drone itself is FANTASTIC!! First time flyer I thought I could easily use it in my SMALL back yard in my residential neighborhood. Big miscaluation on my part. Learn from my error and go to a empty parking lot or field UNTIL you get the hang of it. I CRASHED my drone 3 times in a matter of 15 min and almost hit numerous trees and power lines!!I thought for sure that my drone was toast!! Especially AFTER I HIT my own lamp post in my back yard. While there are a few nicks and dings (not too bad), to my surprise, it STARTED RIGHT BACK UP EVERY TIME AND CONTINUES TO WORK PERFECTLY!!! I was SHOCKED to say the least!! What a STURDY/WELL MADE piece of equiptment!!! My complimence to Ruko for making such a well built drone with SOLID electronics and pieces. After realising that I should not press my luck any further, I headed out to a baseball field and learned how to operate it properly. It took about and hour or so, but I got so competent with it, that I can NOW fly it in my small back yard with ZERO issues. I even know how to take pics and adjust the camera in flight. It has an auto follow feaure and auto land, which is why going through the difficultuy to pair it with the GPS is SSSOOO important. I crashed in my yard those times because I got frustrated, not being able to figure out the GPS pairing and flew it at that time, bypassibg this important step.Other than that, the camera is excellent, the drone itself is obv solid, and it’s feaures are plentiful. This also includes being remote ID compliant with the FAA, by having a built in transmitter that constantly broadcasts your drones ID, speed, heading and so on.It comes wtih TWO batteries that provide 30 mins flight time each and are recharged via USB-C and the remote controller is charged the same way. My advice, is to buy the extra landing gear with the extra caps in the package and buy extra props as well.I also recommend buying an extra RC controller that you can find on Ebay (new) for half the cost, especially since it is sold out from Ruko. I am so impressed by this drone, I am going to buy the same exact one to have as a backup. It’s nice to see a company (esp from China) put out a solid product of this QUALITY. Worth EVERY penny!!

Buy this drone – stop looking & comparing, just click “buy” and fly happy
Its not often that I’m surprised, well, there was that one time my grandma vaulted over a mini-pony to get to the last cream-puff before the dog ate it, but aside from that, its unusual. In this case though I can say without hesitation that I was surprised. Given the vast list of features that typically demand premium prices, to say nothing of the case, battery and folding functionality, I figured costs had to have been cut somewhere – like propellers are extra or you’re only buying a picture of the drone, with a scratch and sniff sections where you can smell the summer breeze that you’d be flying in…..if you had propellers. It was with no small surprise then and all too rare bested expectations, when I opened the box to find the F11 Pro every bit the quality machine its claimed to be. The build quality is exceptional, it feels twice the price you pay. There’s nothing cheap or flimsy about this aerial juggernaut, in fact before the flight test I wondered if something so….robust….could actually lumber into the air, let alone fly – but I’d be proved wrong on that score. Everything looks carefully crafted, form and function by design and purpose, as opposed to whatever injection mold was kicking around the shop. The case is good, everything fits well and even here, something that is often an afterthought thing “thrown in” you can see there is attention to detail and a bias toward doing it right.Unfolding the drone takes a bit of thought – I mean, not Mensa-level, but there is an order to it, and in another nod to quality, you’re going to need to apply some effort – not “Earl, get the sledge” effort, but the “arms” positively move into place and you won’t be doing it with one finger – unless you have a really strong finger, like a body-builder, but just your finger….like your finger works out, but the rest of you doesn’t. Unfolding the controller is actually as near a work of art as unfolding a controller can be – reminds me of a transformer…auto-bot, obviously.Lets get down to brass-tacks though because as Humphrey Bogart once said, “design doesn’t add up to a hill of beans in this crazy town, if the drone won’t fly” – I’m not sure Bogart said anything even close to that actually, but if they had drones in 1942, he would have – but I digress. The start-up procedure for this drone is a little more involved than some lesser models, where the start-up procedure is basically “turn it on”. This however is a more sophisticated machine and so your “pre-flight” is going to be more involved as well – and you want it to be…..it means the drone has complex systems, and just like any pre-flight check, its important to know that they are working and calibrated. That said, its relatively simple -basically comprised of turning in a circle and moving the control sticks – the instructions, app and quick-start guide on the inside of the box lid all do a great job of walking you through it.Flying this drone is is what drone flying should be, but so often isn’t. I have four drones and at least half are fair-weather only. Did someone sneeze fourteen miles away? Best not fly because the drone will be sent careening into a hedge. What’s that?a perfect day with no wind? great….lets get our 8 minutes of flying in. Seriously, some drones seem more designed to have you take up another hobby, than fly drones. Fortunately, the F11 Pro makes flying fun. First, it laughs in the face of a breeze – it is basically a flying brick folks, and bricks don’t take shtick from any mere gust of wind. Second, it will fly for about 28 minutes on a battery….28 minutes… that’s almost 29 minutes, which is almost 30! AND you get a second battery in the box….so ….take 28, carry the four, find the square root of your mom’s meatloaf and TADA!…..near as makes no difference, an hour of flight…IN THE BOX. I found all the flight features to be better than expected and more fun than I had thought – better yet though, is that you can actually fly this drone properly, outside, in the real world, and for longer than it takes some kid to say “hey nice drone, can I fly it”? To which you must automatically respond “Heck no kid, buzz off,…and…..tell mommy I’m on an important call, not to be disturbed for another 27 minutes”.I won’t go into all the features, you can read them yourself, they are there, they work. What is important here though is that this drone is worth every penny you spend, and yes, it is more expensive than some lesser models, but those are the ones that don’t fly well, or crash if uncle Dave toots in your general direction. It also flies for a long time, in a way that’s controllable and adjustable for varied skill – and not just because it can go faster or slower, but because it has multiple features designed to make you successful and enjoy flying, almost as if that were the point.I have no affiliation with the brand, I bought the drone with my own hard-earned cash and I write reviews for products that deserve them.

I love this drone! I tried 2 of the holy stone models years ago, and they were so complicated to set up and they controlled horrible in any wind. The Ruko F11 Pro is amazing! Handels great! Even in the wind itรขย€ย™s able to maintain stability and speed! Takes me less than 30 seconds to set up and fly each use. Itรขย€ย™s so cold outside so I keep running back to the car to warm up then right back at it! The 3rd speed setting is so Fast! Love how easy it is to control and how smooth the video recording is! Canรขย€ย™t stop using it! Overall, good buy! Best drone for the price other than the DJIรขย€ย™s. Buy this for your first drone, 100% Recommended. If you want top of the line camera, expect to pay much more. Iรขย€ย™m happy with this quality for now. Donรขย€ย™t even care about not having a gyro. Love the movement for sport flying!

I was only sent 1 battery and just wanted the second battery but was only offered a refund maybe because I’m in Australia. A real shame was super excited for this model but it had to be returned

If you want to learn how to fly a drone, this is the best option for a beginner from other options I’ve tried. If you read the manual and make sure you understand the basics to start, you’ll be flying like a pro in no time. Also, I called customer service for some troubleshooting when I was new to flying and the person I spoke to was very clear and prompt to address my questions. Overall, I think this is probably the best option for a drone compared to the other options in this price range.

Old ReviewThe camera is fixed, making it difficult to control the flight. When the homing button is pressed, it always misses the mark or landing area. It ends up landing in an area with rough surfaces or tall grasses.Update (August 11, 2024).I encountered some issues with the first drone I tried. The camera was fixed, which made it challenging to control the flight. Whenever I pressed the homing button, the drone consistently missed the mark or landing area, ending up on rough surfaces or tall grass. However, after trying another drone of the same model, I found that the camera was fully functional. It could easily move, pointing both forward and downward from the remote. I was impressed to see that the drone now has the capability to land within 2 feet from where it takes off.I must commend the company for its exceptional customer service and managerial support. I am now 100% satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend purchasing this drone from this company.
